Need for Speed: Underground 2 Walkthrough

This is the game's main part. Here you'll unlock cars, tracks, and many more
things.

Before you start, I suggest you go to the options and choose the tracks you
want. Also, I stongly recommend you turn the jump camera off, it can cause big
accidents. Also, choose the Career Difficulty, and the type of transmission you
want, automatic is the default option, you can also change it on the career
mode.

By the way X is X button, () is Circle, [] is Square, and /\ is Triangle. I'm
writting this as I redo the Career Mode.

Enter the Career Mode, watch the "video" (I don't know if I should call them
videos, they're comic-like animations. Anyway, video is shorter) and you'll
see that you're the same guy from Need for Speed Underground. You were a
winning machine, until the Caleb idiot almost kills you. You then go to Bayview
to start again. You're going to meet with Samantha's friend, Rachel.

When you arrive to Bayview, you'll be in Rachel's Nissan 350Z. That's why you
see it on the main menu, it's your career vehicle. You'll also receive your
first SMS, this one will give you basic info about your car's gadgets. Press X
to return to Gameplay, or /\ to go to the Mailboxes. At the Mailboxes you're
able to Delete your Messages. After that, you'll receive a new message about
the Mini-map, and a Phone telling you that there are some races available.
You'll see at your Mini-map that there are 2 races available. Your objective is
to go to the Car Lot, but first, lets go have some fun.

You'll receive messages about the World map, and the Steering controls.

Search on the airport for Game Tips Messages, specially if this is the first
time you play the game. If you want, challenge other cars on Outrun Races, to
get some money. If you do so, you'll receive 2 SMS about Outrun Races.

Head to Circuit Race, but keep an eye on Game Tips SMS, they give you info, and
25$. I'm not counting Outrun races in the total races. There are a total of 26
Game Tips SMS, and 2 bank rewards, see maps section for more info.

green and let's get started. Two laps. The course will get downloaded to your
map."

Strategy: This is an easy race, I'm starting the game again, and I'm playing in
Hard difficulty. I won by more than 6 seconds. Just race using your brain. When
the road splits into 2, take the left one, it's a little more dangerous,
because you'll be in wrong way, but the road is shorter. Make a wise use of
your nitro. If you weren't able to win, don't get dissapointed, just restart
if you restart, it'll count like if you were doing the race for the first time.
Rachel's car is fast, I got up to 187 mph, and the other cars couldn't make it
to 170 mph.

Unloncks: Nothing

After you've won, Rachel will call you to see what's going on and why are you
taking so long to get to the Car Lot. Lets make her wait. There's a hidden race
available, from the street the race is on, turn right, and then take the third
left, or see the map from Real Gar I've put if you can't find it.

Strategy: Same thing here, watch out for traffic, and don't crash against walls
when cornering.

Unlocks: Freemont Track

After you finish this race, you'll receive Rachel's SMS about her car, the one
that causes so many trouble with many players. Anyway, you still can enter
races, I think it's another glitch with this message, only that this one is
helpful.

Go to the Sprint race on your map.

"Sup Darlin'? Whoa you ain't Rachel. You must be that hayseed that's bunkin' at
her place. We're sprint racing and if you want in, get out your bankroll. You
do have the same currency in the sticks as we do in the big city, right? Check
the map for the course. You stayin' or goin'?"

Strategy: Not much to say, just avoid the traffic. Eventhough this one's a
little harder than the last one, you should not have problems.

Unlocks: None


After that, you'll be able to choose your car between the: Peugeot 206, Ford
Focus, Toyota Corolla, Nissan 240SX, Mazda Miata MX-5, and the Honda Civic.

All of these cars have very similar stats. The Peugeot 206 and the Nissan 240SX
have the best Acceleration, the Nissan 240SX has the best Top Speed, and the
Mazda Miata MX-5 has the best Handling. Anyway, it's your choice, last time I
chose the Honda Civic, and this time I'm choosing the Nissan 240SX.

You should have 1% by now.

Head to the Car Lot, watch the Video were you give Rachel her car back.

Once you leave the Car Lot, you'll receive a SMS and a call telling you that
you have to head to the Garage. Don't bother searching for Shops, they'll be
closed, and there are no races Available. As always keep an eye on the Game
Tips SMS. The GPS will activate automatically, follow it if you want, or take
your own route.

Once you get to the Garage, enter it. Watch the Video where Rachel introduces
you to the Underground Racing world, and you'll meet Tommy.

There's not much to see at the Garage, and you can't do anything at Dyno,
because you don't have any upgrades. You still don't have the world map. So
just return to Explore Mode to begin Stage 1.

Rachel will tell you that there are some races at the city tonight. You'll also
receive a SMS with the same info.

Leave the Garage and turn right, go to the Street X race.

"Street X is da bomb man - your ride better have some hype suspension to handle
the g's you're gonna be pullin' around these tracks. You wanna join? I'll send
you the track map."

Strategy:  This is your first Street X race. When you enter it, you'll see a
video that explains you the basic about this race type. These races are hard
when your car has no upgrades. Just watch out for the other cars, sometimes
they'll spin and block the road.

Now, let's go unlock some Shops. From the Street X race, head northeast on the
intersection. Follow that road until it ends, then turn right. Take the first
left and follow that road as it curves left, you should see the green light at
the left side of the road. Enter the Body Shop to unlock it on your map, you'll
also unlock some parts.

Buy everything you want.

Now, let's find another shop. Leave the Body Shop, head for the street, and
turn left. Stay on the road, and climb one of the roads at the fountain's side.
Enter the stone road, and when you return to the asphalt road, turn left. Take
the first right and you'll see the red light on the left side of the road.
Enter the Graphics shop.

Parts unlocked:
 Paint:  You'll have the Base Paint, Spoiler, Roof Scoop, Mirrors, and Engine
         Accents unlocked, but you'll only be able to change the Base Paint.
 Colors: You'll only have the Gloss colors unlocked, any paint you choose will
         give you 0.10 stars on your visual rating, and will cost 200$. You'll
         have a total of 60 different colors to choose from.
 Vinyls: You have 4 different layers to put vinyls on. You'll only have Flames,
         Flames Set, Lightning, and Lightning Set. Any of them cost 100$ each,
         and will give you 0.04 stars on your visual rating.
 Decals: You have many decals to put on your: Windshield, Rear Window, Left and
         Right Door, and your Left and Right Quarter Panel. Each Decal costs
         25$ and gives you 0.01 stars on your visual rating.

If you buy anything, don't forget to purchase your setup.

After you're done, exit back to the Explore Mode.

Head south towards the 5 part fountain, and take the road that leads West.
Follow it and make the second right. you'll see the blue lights on your left.

Parts Unlocked: You'll unlock some Street Packages Parts. I suggest you don't
buy nothing here, wait until we get to Megalow Parts Shop, and buy everything
in packages. Except for the nitrous, because it doesn't have a discount,
because it's only 1 thing.

Buy what you want and exit to explore mode. Head towards the garage, but don't
enter it, stay on the road. Go north and enter the road at your right. You'll
see another Body Shop at your right. Enter it to be able to see it at your
world map, there are no new things here.

Exit back to explore mode. Enough of shops for the moment. Go to the Drag race
you have on you map.

Strategy:  When you enter the race you'll see a video that shows you the basics
of drag races. If you start with a Perfect Shift, you'll win easily. Read the
Drag races section for more info.

When you return to Explore Mode, you'll receive a message telling you that
there are new window tints available at the Car Specialities Shop, so let's
head there. To make it easier, head to the Car Lot. Go on the road that heads
west. Follow it and you'll see the Shop's entrance, enter it.


Exit back to the Explore Mode. Turn left on the street in front of you. Enter
the shortcut at your right, and you'll see a Hidden Race

Continue on this shortcut until you reach the street again. Continue on the
street heading Northeast and make the first left. Keep on driving until you see
the blue lights, this is the Megalow Parts Shop. You should come here to buy
level 1 and 2 upgrades.

Back on Explore Mode, go to the street and make a left. Follow this road as it
curves right, then take the first right. Look at the left side of the street
and you'll see a hidden race.

I'm getting 200 reputation points on each race. According to Ryan, if you get
less, probably you'll unlock parts later. And according to John Monroe, you'll
unlock URL races later.
Also, the cars your opponents drive may vary depending on the car your driving.
The message you get when you may also vary, because there are more than 3
different messages that can appear for each race.
On the Stage info, I'm not making any difference between Drift and Downhill
Drift, because there's no difference on the world map, same thing with SUV
races.
